Job Title: Clinical Governance and Quality Manager
Location: CIDP
Reports to: Head of Adult Services
PURPOSE
INITIAL PURPOSE: Along with the management team, support the
transition from residential to community living; ensuring each
individual is supported to live a self ? directed life. Providing
Clinical Governance to ensure quality and compliance whilst
implementing clear structures, polices and processes. This will
include travelling to homes in the community to perform quality,
compliance, and governance audits, compiling reports, and inputting
into improvement and support plans.
ONGOING PURPOSE: To work with the staff team to develop and implement
best practice in clinical governance and quality, maintaining
oversight of and addressing issues in relation to clinical governance,
regulatory requirements, and compliance. The Clinical Quality and
Governance Manager will need to keep up to date with regulatory bodies
and any changes within the Healthcare/Social Care/Disability sectors.
The successful candidate will be expected to embrace the ethos of St
Joseph?s Residential and Community Service; which is to empower
people to live self-directed lives and to be as independent as
possible while in St Joseph?s House or being supported in the
community.? The successful candidate will actively promote the rights
of the? individuals living in the Community and SJH ?by ensuring
they are fully involved in all aspects of their healthcare
assessments.?
Liaise and collaborate with the Clinical Nurse Manager in the boarding
campus to ensure consistency in approach to clinical needs across the
organisation.
BELOW ARE THE MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY; ?
MANAGE SAFETY AND QUALITY
* Undertake relevant training and development to keep up to date with
current legislation, regulatory developments and best practice and
utilise this knowledge to consult with the wider team.
* Be registered as person participating in management
* Provide clinical advice and guidance for nursing and support
staff.
PROVIDING A GOOD SERVICE
* To enable the promotion of the rights of each customer and keep
their wishes at the centre of their care.
* Promoting and contributing to a positive ?safeguarding culture
ensuring that CIDP?s safeguarding procedures and protocols are
effectively implemented to maintain a safe and secure environment for
service users.
* To ensure compliance with current legislation and that CIDP?s
policies and procedures are implemented appropriately across the
service.
LEAD AND MANAGE STAFF.
* Completion of monthly nursing rosters including holiday and sick
leave, to ensure adequate nursing cover
* Participate with the orientation of all new nursing staff to the
service
* Be responsible for the supervision and performance management? of
Nursing staff reporting any concerns to the Head of Adults Services
* To foster a quality focussed ethos that will be utilised to
maintain a culture of performance and excellence throughout all
departments.
PROMOTE THE SERVICE
* Manage relationships with external stakeholders to promote the new
model.
* To ensure all stakeholders in any change/improvement project or
programme are kept informed and can effectively contribute to
work-plans.
* To effectively represent and promote CIDP where appropriate.
* To be one of the main contacts for regulatory/statutory/sector
bodies as required.
